The Forbidden Fitnah 90% of Muslims Are Missing
(Do THIS Before Qiyamah’s Signs Appear! ☪️)

The Forbidden Fitnah 90% of Muslims Are Missing

In these end times, as the signs of Qiyamah become increasingly apparent, there is one forbidden fitnah that the majority of Muslims are completely unaware of. This hidden danger is more destructive than any physical calamity because it attacks the very foundation of our iman and aqeedah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) warned us about numerous trials that would face the ummah, but this particular fitnah has become so normalized that we don’t even recognize it as a threat anymore.

“There will come a time when nothing will remain of Islam except its name, and nothing will remain of the Qur’an except its script. Their mosques will be full but empty of guidance. Their scholars will be the worst people under the sky. From them fitnah will emerge and to them it will return.”

— Bayhaqi

1. The Hidden Fitnah of Our Times

The greatest fitnah facing Muslims today is not the external enemies or physical threats, but rather the slow erosion of our spiritual consciousness. We have become so preoccupied with worldly matters that we’ve forgotten the true purpose of our existence. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Love of worldly things is the root of all evil.” Yet today, we measure success by material standards rather than spiritual growth.

This fitnah manifests in several dangerous ways that most Muslims don’t recognize. We pray our salah but our hearts remain attached to dunya. We recite Qur’an but don’t reflect on its meanings. We attend Islamic lectures but don’t implement the knowledge. This disconnect between outward practice and inward reality is the silent killer of iman that’s spreading like wildfire in our communities.

The most alarming aspect is how this fitnah has become normalized. We don’t even realize we’re being tested because the trial comes wrapped in religious activities. People who appear pious may be far from Allah in their hearts, while those who seem worldly may have greater taqwa. This confusion is itself a sign of the end times that the Prophet warned us about.

2. The Seven Warning Signs You’re Affected

How can you know if this fitnah has affected you? Here are seven warning signs that indicate you may be falling into this hidden trap:

1. You perform religious obligations mechanically without presence of heart

2. Worldly matters occupy your thoughts more than the hereafter

3. You’re more concerned with people’s opinions than Allah’s pleasure

4. Sins don’t distress you as they once did

5. You judge others’ Islam by outward appearance while neglecting your own heart

6. Religious knowledge has become a means of argument rather than transformation

7. You feel a disconnect between what you know and how you live

If you recognize any of these signs in yourself, don’t despair. The fact that you can identify them is the first step toward healing. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Every son of Adam sins, and the best of sinners are those who repent.” What matters most is recognizing the problem and taking steps to purify your heart.

3. The Root Cause of This Spiritual Disease

The core of this fitnah lies in our neglect of the heart. In Islamic tradition, the heart (qalb) is not just a physical organ but the center of our spiritual being. It’s the seat of understanding, intention, and connection with Allah. When we focus solely on outward actions while neglecting the state of our hearts, we fall into the very hypocrisy that the Qur’an warns against.

The scholars of tasawwuf (Islamic spirituality) identified several diseases of the heart that contribute to this fitnah: riya (showing off), ujub (self-admiration), hasad (envy), and hubb al-dunya (love of worldly things). These spiritual diseases are more dangerous than physical illnesses because they corrupt our worship and distance us from Allah without us even realizing it.

Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “The heart becomes sick just as the body becomes sick, and its cure is repentance and protection. It becomes rusty just as metal becomes rusty, and its polish is remembrance of Allah. It becomes naked just as the body becomes naked, and its clothing is taqwa.” This profound statement summarizes both the problem and the solution.

4. The Five-Step Cure Before Qiyamah

Now that we’ve identified the problem, what’s the solution? Here are five powerful steps to protect yourself from this forbidden fitnah before the major signs of Qiyamah appear:

Step 1: Daily Heart Inventory (Muhasabah)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised us to “Take account of yourselves before you are taken to account.” Set aside time each day to reflect on your spiritual state. Ask yourself: Was my salah today focused? Did I perform any actions for show? Was I sincere in my worship? This regular self-assessment prevents spiritual diseases from taking root.

Step 2: Qur’anic Therapy

The Qur’an is described as “a healing for what is in the breasts” (10:57). Don’t just recite the Qur’an – let it recite you. Spend time each day reading with reflection (tadabbur). Choose a few verses, ponder their meanings, and ask yourself how they apply to your life. This transforms Qur’an reading from a ritual into a transformative experience.

Step 3: Purification Through Remembrance (Dhikr)

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “The example of one who remembers Allah and one who does not is like the living and the dead.” Establish a daily dhikr routine focusing on quality over quantity. The morning and evening adhkar are particularly powerful for spiritual protection. Let your tongue be moist with the remembrance of Allah throughout the day.

Step 4: Sincere Repentance (Tawbah Nasuhah)

Genuine repentance is more than just saying “Astaghfirullah.” It requires: 1) Sincere remorse, 2) Immediate cessation of the sin, 3) Determination not to return, and 4) Making amends if others were wronged. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said he repented to Allah 100 times a day – how much more do we need it?

Step 5: Spiritual Companionship (Suhbah)

“A person is upon the religion of their close friend,” said the Prophet (peace be upon him). Surround yourself with people who remind you of Allah and the Hereafter. Join a study circle or find an accountability partner. Spiritual isolation makes us vulnerable to fitnah, while righteous companionship strengthens our iman.

“Whoever remembers his Lord and whoever does not are like the living and the dead.”

— Sahih al-Bukhari 6407

5. The Urgency of Acting Now

The signs of Qiyamah are appearing at an accelerating rate. The Prophet (peace be upon him) described these times saying, “The Hour will not come until time passes quickly, so a year will be like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour like the burning of a palm leaf.” We’re witnessing this prophecy unfold before our eyes.

This makes addressing the forbidden fitnah an urgent matter. When the major signs begin appearing – the coming of Imam Mahdi, the appearance of Dajjal, the descent of Isa (Jesus) – it will be too late for spiritual preparation. The time to purify our hearts is now, before these earth-shattering events occur.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “The wise person is the one who takes account of himself and works for what comes after death. The foolish is the one who follows his desires and entertains wishes.” Don’t be among those who wake up when it’s too late.

6. The Reward for Those Who Heed This Warning

For those who recognize this forbidden fitnah and take action, there is tremendous good news. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting from their reward in the slightest.” By reviving the concern for heart purification in these times, you become a beacon of light for others.

Moreover, Allah promises in the Qur’an (50:31-35): “And Paradise will be brought near to the righteous… This is what you were promised – for every returner and keeper. Who feared the Most Merciful unseen and came with a heart returning in repentance. Enter it in peace. This is the Day of Eternity.” What greater reward could there be than this?

The scholars say that in times of widespread fitnah, holding firmly to the truth carries extra reward because it’s more difficult. Your struggle to maintain a pure heart amidst today’s spiritual pollution is especially precious in Allah’s sight. Don’t underestimate the value of your efforts.

Your Spiritual Action Plan

Starting today, commit to:

✓ 5 minutes daily heart reflection (muhasabah)

✓ 10 minutes Qur’an with reflection (tadabbur)

✓ Consistent morning/evening adhkar

✓ Weekly repentance (tawbah nasuhah)

✓ Monthly meeting with spiritual companions

Conclusion: The Choice Is Yours

As the clouds of Qiyamah gather on the horizon, each Muslim faces a critical choice: Will we wake up to this forbidden fitnah before it’s too late, or will we continue sleepwalking into spiritual oblivion? The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned us so we could prepare. Now the responsibility lies with us.

Allah says in the Qur’an (57:20): “Know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children – like the example of a rain whose resulting plant growth pleases the tillers; then it dries and you see it turned yellow; then it becomes debris. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment and forgiveness from Allah and approval. And what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion.”

Let us not be among those deceived by the glitter of dunya while our hearts rust from neglect. The time for spiritual renewal is now – before the trumpet blows, before the sun rises from the west, before death overtakes us. May Allah make us among those who hear the truth and follow it, who recognize the fitnah and avoid it, who purify their hearts before the final test comes. Ameen.
